New to 2013 "Exemplar Innovations"

TCAA Education Committee invites you to present at our Annual Meeting on November 5-6, 2013 at the Peppermill Resort, Casino and Spa in Reno, Nevada.

Best Practices and Exemplar Innovations now being accepted.

The deadline for submissions is Wednesday, May 1, 2013.

An Exemplar Innovation is an ideal model or successful initiative worthy of imitation that is unique to your Trauma Center and highlights your program. The Exemplar Innovation Series will be a collection of 20 minute lectures to showcase ideas, best practice models, and implementation of methods or areas of interest from within our trauma community. This is a great opportunity to inform your peers on what's being done within your association or healthcare facility.

The Poster Reception will take place on November 5th to highlight your Trauma Center's "Best Practice". The Best Practices and Exemplar Innovations do not need to be evidenced-based or a scientific abstract. Please review the attached Exemplar Innovation/Best Practice Instruction Sheet and Submission Form and do not hesitate to call or email with questions. We look forward to your submissions and seeing you at the 2013 TCAA Annual Conference.

Exemplar Best Practice Instructions

Members of Congress will be in their home districts for the Summer District Work Period (August 3 - September 7), as well as much of this fall prior to the November elections. During this time, Members will be hosting town hall meetings and attending an array of public events. TCAA encourages you to use these opportunities to educate your Members about the importance of trauma care and the need to fund the trauma programs authorized under the Public Health Service Act. Funding for these programs will help prevent more trauma center closures and will pilot regionalized systems of emergency care to create greater efficiency of emergency medical care and transport. 

In addition, TCAA encourages you to ask your House Members to co-sponsor H.R. 3144, the bipartisan Field EMS Quality, Innovation and Cost-Effectiveness Improvement Act. This bill would establish HHS as the primary federal agency for trauma care and EMS, and create an Office of EMS and Trauma to provide a voice, home, and initial funding for EMS and trauma programs.
