Best Practice - TCAA is proud to announce that we will be having a Poster Reception on October 23, 2012 during the TCAA 2012 Annual Conference. The posters will display a Trauma Center's "Best Practice". A Best Practice is an innovation or successful initiative that is unique to your Trauma Center and highlights your program. It does not have to be a scientific abstract or be evidence-based. Please review the Best Practice Instruction Sheet and Submission Form.

2012 Lobby Day Announcement

TCAA will be hosting its 2012 Lobby Day on Thursday, June 28th in Washington, DC. Visits with your Members of Congress will be scheduled by TCAA's federal team at Holland & Knight. The focus of our visits will be to ask Members of Congress to support appropriations funding for the trauma programs authorized under the Public Health Service Act, and to begin laying the foundation for ensuring the sustainability of reimbursement for trauma care.

Contact Your Federal Legislators to Support Funding for Trauma Programs!

Senators Jack Reed (D-RI) and Patty Murray (D-WA) are circulating a letter for their Senate colleagues to co-sign and send to Secretary Sebelius. The letter requests that the Secretary prioritize fund within HHS for the four trauma and EMS system programs authorized under the Public Health Service Act, which will provide necessary seed money to States to develop and enhance their trauma systems. Appropriate funding of these programs will also help prevent more trauma center closures and will pilot regionalized systems of emergency care to create greater efficiency of emergency medical care and transport.
